Boys tennis: Arlington duo reaches final
Arlington High School's Will Merrell and Alex Shih advanced to today's league doubles final at Cross Court with a pair of victories.
By winning its quarterfinal match, the duo qualified for next weekend's Section 1 Tournament at SUNY Purchase.
In singles action, Arlington's Karan Narula lost his semifinal before bouncing back to win the third-place match. Narula also qualified for sectionals.

In a contest that included seven combined hits, the visiting Marlboro High School softball team snuck past Our Lady of Lourdes 3-1 on Wednesday to improve to 14-1. "We had timely hits, which were important," Marlboro coach Jennifer Veronesi said.

Girls golf: Lourdes takes league title
Our Lady of Lourdes High School senior Taylor Petrini shot a season-low 3-over-par 37 at Vassar College Golf Course to help Lourdes to a 178-224 win over Carmel on Wednesday. The victory clinched Lourdes' first Section 1 League C title since 2008.
